Yes. Searching for rentals, saving favourites, setting up alerts, and using our AI assistant are completely free for renters.

Every listing has a contact form. Fill in your details and message, and the landlord receives your inquiry in their inbox. Your name, email and phone number are shared with that landlord so they can reply.

It's a chatbot that understands plain language. It can search for properties, pull up the details of a specific listing, tell you about a city, and create a rental alert for you — all from the conversation.

Create an alert from the Alerts page in your renter portal, or simply ask the AI assistant to set one up. Your saved alerts live in your portal, where you can pause or delete them at any time.

Landlords who display a verified badge have been confirmed by our team. The badge appears on their listings and on their profile card.

We cover major Canadian cities including Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa and Edmonton, with more being added over time.

Sign up as a landlord and create your listing from the management portal. Listing is free on the Limited plan; Promoted and Featured upgrades are activated by the Rent.ca team.

Tenant rights vary by province. Generally, tenants have the right to a safe living environment, privacy, and protection from unfair eviction. Always check the residential tenancy rules for your own province.

Rent.ca.NET is a portfolio project and the listings are demo data, so there is nothing to report as fraudulent. If you spot a bug or a mistake in the app itself, please open an issue on the GitHub repository linked in the footer.
